"When once a republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of its growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil" Thomas Jefferson

This Larry guy is arguing that the two party system is so corrupt (giving jobs to party supporters) that it's impossible to get rid of it. BULLCRAP! Trying to fix the Republican party helps nothing it only creates "new evils" like lobbyist reform, campaign finance laws, and other crap that only shifts around the corruption to new venues.

The solution is not to "try to fix it from within". The solution is to burn it to the ground and start over with only the Constitution!

Reforming the GOP has been tried for decades, and the results are always the same. Last time was the Tea Party movement, had a few successes then was co-opted, then disappeared.

Trying to reform the GOP is like pissing in the ocean and expecting it to turn yellow.

Exactly. Been trying for decades. I was done voting in 2016 and then Trump came along. I've been on the ground working at the local and state levels. New party is needed and let the GOP die on a withered vine.

Major flaw in the above premise. Believing GOP primaries are not rigged.

A nee party would still exist in a first past the post system we have in the US. It's not like areas of Europe where you get a percentage of seats that matches the percentage of the vote the party got.

Vote the scoundrels out in the next rigged election isn’t a solution.

What makes anyone think the GOP doesn’t rig their primaries so you can’t throw out the trash?

"Voting" for change doesn't work when elections are rigged.

I think it's possible to do both. Use the GOP to fund MAGA candidates. So long as those candidates don't cower to the establishment, fine. Let MAGA elected officials distinguish themselves proudly.

Then at the same time, erect the funding apparatus for MAGA party and sift the wheat from the chaff as people move over.

Same thing we hear from Lindsey Graham every time he goes on Fox lying to people about all the action he has planned for us.
