Hypothetically what if the monitor just said “error with batch please rescan” and some subset of them failed. And instead of picking out the bad ones just kept rescanning to get them all validated knowing that you can’t rescan a ballot twice successfully. Easier to do this than rescan ones that didn’t work.

....unless the barcode was missing! Then I guess we have a problem!
