Do we need more than one to object?

No, but we do need a majority in both houses to actually effectuate it

Sounds like I'm misinformed on how the process works. I heard more than once that it only takes one senator and one representative to make this a contested election. Is this is wrong?

I believe that first, one Senator and one Representative must vote to contest it. But, to actually throw out the electoral votes, a majority in both Houses must then vote to do so.
