I suppose that's a fair assessment, but I don't mind bird people. There are some really cool looking birds out there and I can't blame them for wanting one.
Word of advice, cockatoos are pretty, but don’t ever get one. My folks have a pair, and I used to wonder why Aussies considered them a “pest species” until I was around them for a bit.
Their screech sounds like the dying wails of an exorcized banshee, and it’s ear splitting. And it can continue for hours. Their neighbors always hated them, lol. A couple even moved. The one that built their dream house next door kept calling the county on them, and making their life miserable, until my folks moved.
To a bigger property with less neighbors, so everybody is happy.
I’ve always wanted a lorikeet though, but they’re high maintenance and eat enough fresh fruits to make Ron Popeil jealous.
