Stirring up trouble by overhyping bad energy is a tactic, too.
When you see phrases like "I don't plan on coming back" or worse, click on the poster and consider the age of the account before updooting.

Show up "well-stocked" is my motto.
You can take that any way you want. We all need food, water, shelter, warmth, etc.
If the intent is to show a long-term presence, it's all hands on deck for the basics.
If you can't bring a gun, carry pepper spray and a taser. Be aware of your surroundings.
