Many years ago I was reading a thread about security guards in prisons. They were discussing which was worse: Men's prisons or Women's prisons.
Apparently, most guards prefer to work in the violent, maximum security men's prisons than any Women's prisons.
Why?
Well, turns out the violence between Men is ritualized.
They shout. They shove. They get in each other's face. Then the punches start.
Point is, you see it coming. You sense it. You can intervene. You can get between them and get them apart.
Women, apparently, don't follow those rituals. You turn your back and all of a sudden she goes from lying on the bunk to jumping onto your back, panther-style, scratching and biting and obeying none of the men's unwritten rules of fighting. You know, below the belt and stuff like that.
Every man has been in some scuffles in his school boy days. (well, maybe, who knows now with the kind of emasculation going on). I imagine even the most swishy of gay men would take a stand if an abusive partner went too far.
Women, I don't know. They might not have that experience.
Although straights beat them by far in raw numbers, lesbians beat everyone in percentages. Gays guys generally don't beat the shit out of each even though men are supposed to be the more violent ones.
Probably the reason lesbians are higher is they don't have a guy (whether it be current boyfriend, ex, friendzoned guy, etc.) to do the fighting for them. Women think and want to carry out violence just as often as men do, but even the most stubborn feminist cannot overrule their subconscious telling them they aren't built for it. That's why a ton of women get men to do it for them. In addition, most women will only get into fights with guys if they think the guy will absolutely not retaliate.
Lesbians do not have the same repertoire built with as many guys and so have less people to manipulate to do the fighting for them. They have to take action with their own hands and against another woman they don't have the subconscious aspect telling them to avoid the fight.
I have more respect for the gay person who is like: "Yeah, I know the norm is man and woman. I tried that, it just doesn't work for me. This might not seem ideal, but it's the best I can do, I'm happier than I've been, and we all do the best we can." There's not a person on earth who doesn't fall under that in one way or another.
But I think the activists got tied into Marxism. "Homosexuality is every bit as good as heterosexuality. It's even better! Every cultural norm of heterosexuality is just some wicked, behind the scenes plot by straight people to bend the world to their whim, and we should rebel against heteronormativity!"
Where... even looking at these two world views, you see one is a person dealing with the hand life dealt them. The other is a person using sexuality to destroy a culture.
Not trying to be mean here.... is it common for gay couples to sort of split into masculine / feminine roles? It seems to.
I notice lesbians divide themselves into the "butch" and "Femme" (masculine / feminine acting). Two feminine is not as common as it is in, say, porn.
It seems that even in defiance of heterosexuality, obedience to its norms is made.
