I still consider myself a right-leaning libertarian or a libertarian leaning Republican. The Libertarian party, however, has gone full retard, and the corporatocracy we’re slipping towards has changed my mind a bit on regulation. Libertarian party position on borders and national sovereignty is an absolute joke.
So if we abolish the government and I create a company.. Then using corporate funds I hire a private army of blackwater mercenaries kil off all the competition that's perfectly legit and that can't be considered a monopoly rightt? Because monopolies can only exist under government?
You literally just described corporatocracy, a form of government that enforces monopolies. I'd suggest doing a little reading on how governments and economies interact.
People keep mixing the base of libertarianism (classic liberalism) with the modern libertarian party. Classic liberalism is more like our founding fathers and what the country was built on. Modern libertarians and the LP are a fucking joke.
First, I find it pretty shitty to take an awesome artist like Ben Garrison and use MS Paint to alter one of his cartoons to make him say something he never said.
It's deliberately misquoting him. That's a Demonrat tactic.
Second, saying that libertarianism (little l) sucks is saying that freedom sucks.
The "corporatarians" get their outsized influence through government regulations, not despite them. It's the fucking crooked politicians that take bribes to let the monster corporations write the laws themselves that are the problem.
If government were so small that it is unable to affect corporate earnings, the corporations wouldn't bother with all the expensive fucking lobbyists. The lobbyists exist to use big government to expand corporate power.
The smaller government is, the more free we are (just think: if there were zero government, we'd be completely free to do whatever we want without governmental judgment). Laws are bars on the jail cell of citizenship.
The only rightful laws are those that judge citizens for interfering with the freedoms of their fellow citizens: life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and all that jazz.
The smaller government is, the more real competition works to fight monopolies and corporate abuse. If people don't look to government as responsible for fighting these things, they will stand up and do it themselves.
Thank you. Spot on. Also, I don't see the point of using divide and conquer on different groups who are all on the MAGA train. It seems like a pointless distraction. Oh wait... 🤔
No dude our system is just not set up for libertarianism right now. The whole problem is you got government influencing business and big corporations influencing government politicians.
There has to be a check on corporarions influencing politicians (especially legislature) but we don't have anything substantial in place atm. The mist substantial check we have on gov influencing business is our vote every 2-6 years.
The joke back when I lived in Australia was, "libertarianism is like an Australian accent. It's cute for a bit, when you're young; but if you wanna be taken seriously as an adult you should probably grow out of it."

Monopolies can only exist when government enforces them. God, watch Milton Friedman on youtube for 5 minutes.

lol WRONG!
section 230 gave the corportations immunity that publications dont have!
so they could not be sued
Libertarian is what dems call themselves when they want conservatives to vote for them.

This is why I say I’m classically liberal and distance myself from the LP.
Side note, “libertarianism” changed big time in 2016 when disaffected Bernie bros needed a new political home

Conservatism is freedom. Libertarianism is not freedom
Explain, plz.
