I am staying outside of the D.C. area and I went ahead and scheduled my ride to the capital so I don't have to worry about there being enough rides to go around. I don't want anything to do with the metro if I have the choice.

"The revolution will not be motorized"
you dont understand how uber and lyft work. they send the closest car. scheduling early does not guarantee you a ride. if there is high demand, you still might not get a car when you schedule.
so much this. even a conservative driver wont want to go into DC on the 6th, they only get paid when there is a rider in the car, and how much do you think they are getting paid? so if it takes 2 hours to get into area you want to be, then it may take 3 hours to get out of there. sure they MIGHT get rides while in DC, but those rides wont net them much of a return in the chaos that DC will be on the 6th. make other plans
Have a feeling you may have to walk a bit to get to the Capital.
