When he first took office & President Trump was looking at designs for the Border Wall , President Trump asked him personally to do a no BS report using his LEO experience on what was needed to support Border Patrol .
Instead of doing what was supposed to be a fly in fly out quick trip ,he spent 10 days,riding horses on patrol through remote brush choked washouts,in boats on river patrol,night ambush/patrols using NV,days in vehicular border patrol etc.
