My comment above was only in reference to what that site - macrotrends - says is the source of its data (per the site... UN projections for 2020 and 2021 (it has been updated since the screengrab)).
@ethicalskeptic on twitter (solid... take a look) has done analysis to indicate that "died because of covid" is somewhere less than the 300k "died with covid" and the 6% CDC number of "only died of covid). I tend to trust his calculations.
I also agree that because this is a new virus and thus our population has very little immunity, that older/weaker folks probably died this year. The death rate per case (and the trailing IFR with a 14 day lag) in my state of Georgia (per the Georgia dept. of health site) shows that even though positive PCR tests have been increasing since October... deaths have been decreasing since an August peak... and have been flat for about 6 weeks now.
So... to summarize:
All cause deaths in 2020 will end up being MORE than all cause deaths in 2019
Covid deaths are almost certainly overstated
Deaths in my state have slowed
Due to the fact that no one had immunity already, lots of people died this year that may have died in the next year anyway
The government response has been nonsensical and tyranical. I don't wear a mast anywhere (with one exception - church... and I'm not going to be the bad guy there... though I do go half the time to a chuch that has almost no masks and I don't wear one there).
We've shifted massive amounts of wealth to super rich and large corporations.
We sit in our houses (if we have the means) and the low income folks do the work for us.
It is nonsense.
Anyway, sorry for the wall of text. We're on the same time I assume... Pro Trump... anti progressivism... anti tyranny.
So... that site... macrotrends says (above tbe screegrab he sbows) the 2020 numbers are UN projections and do NOT include any covid 19 update.
2020 will, once the dust settles, have more deaths than 2019, and substantially more than a "normal" fluctuation of all cause death.
I still believe the reaction to Covid to be overblown, a scam, and perhaps fraudulent.
However, deaths in the US will be shown to have increased at a higher rate in 2020.
