A constitution is just a piece of paper. People have to enforce it. If you just put faith that your political opponents will abide by the Constitution if you get the most votes, you’re a fool. There is zero honor in politics...politicians are all cutthroats and pirates.
If you read some of the Federalist Papers, you’ll understand that Founding Fathers understood very well that people would misbehave and cheat. They counted on it. The system works through leveraging political rivalries to keep things in balance. That’s why they depended on a system of federalism and separation of powers to keep things under control. They depended on political rivalry to ensure constitutional requirements were followed. So the reason why Democrats aren’t able to cheat wildly in every election isn’t because “it’s illegal or unconstitutional to cheat.” It’s because the Republicans will be vigilantly watching them and using the governmental offices and branches they control to defend themselves and/or counteracting Democratic cheating with GOP cheating. Democratic politics in a large republic is a messy system. If a candidate’s political party lays down so the other side can cheat as much as it wants, that candidate is dead in the water. It simply doesn’t matter how many Floriday baby boomer boat owners will go out cruising with their Trump flags.
If you just lay back and think you’ll be able to sue your opponents if they cheat, as Trump seems to think, you are naive.
A candidate like Trump with zero support among his own political party rank and file is an impossibility in the US system of politics. He was only elected in 2016 because the Democrats didn’t perceive that he could possibly win, so they didn’t cheat very hard. In 2020, they were out in force and the GOP establishment laid down, so Trump lost.
Ask yourselves this — how many of you are actually involved in politics? How many of you work for local GOP offices? You all just assume that the GOP rank and file will carry out your wishes because you’re the voters. That’s naive.
Trump did absolutely nothing to protect himself from cheating in the last 4 years. Point to anything he did. I challenge you.
So... is this, 'slow motion shill' or what?
My takeaway:
"Play dirty like everyone else or fail... rightfully so." "Become your enemy - play dirty in the mud like expected."
"WTF is a 'Constitution?' "
