You can download the text of the bill and search for the word "insurrection". It's not in it. It was removed at some point, in committee. Just like the pay raise in the Omnibus, it was removed.
But some pedes just won't listen, don't know, or refuse to know.
It exists, but Trump won't use it when there's no major violent insurrection going on. He knows that the military would not follow his command to do so, so if he tried it would make him look weak.
Do you really think the military would not support Trump? Where the hell did you get that disinformation? They just confirmed military ballots were altered, they lost their vote. I don’t know a single active military member or vet that doesn’t support Trump, it seems rare.
The military has already said it has no role in the election. If Trump tried to order them to seize voting machines, require new votes in the 6 states, etc. they would not follow that order. If Trump tried to order them to seize control of the country to keep him president, they would not follow that order.
This is disinformation if you ask me. Show me sources please. The military’s job is to protect their country and their rights. And I haven’t met a single active or vet that wouldn’t support Trump. Shit we just found out military ballots were altered, give me a break lol.
The Rodney King riots in LA are an example of when the Insurrection Act was invoked. There is no chance - zero - that Trump will try to use the military to change the election results.
I don’t believe you understand what the insurrection is for. I mean no offense to you. Maybe I’m wrong but let’s learn together. I posted this to learn as well from others.
“An Act authorizing the employment of the land and naval forces of the United States, in cases of insurrections
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in all cases of insurrection, or obstruction to the laws, either of the United States, or of any individual state or territory, where it is lawful for the President of the United States to call forth the militia for the purpose of suppressing such insurrection, or of causing the laws to be duly executed, it shall be lawful for him to employ, for the same purposes, such part of the land or naval force of the United States, as shall be judged necessary, having first observed all the pre-requisites of the law in that respect.”
You're correct but I think we're talking about two different things. Trump threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act over the Antifa riots that were destroying cities. That was a proper use (or at least threat) for this law, because there was actual violence going on. I'm not arguing that the Insurrection Act can't be used to respond to riots where people are getting killed and buildings are being burned down.
On the other hand, people are saying Trump should use the Insurrection Act as a response to election fraud, basically to use the military to take control of the voting process and reverse the fraud even when there's no violence going on. That's the area that the Insurrection Act can't be used for, because there is no violent insurrection that requires a response.

¯_(ツ)_/¯
That’s why I’m posting this. The disinformation is getting worse these days.
Trump can do anything he wants, presidents have secret powers.

"If a city or state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them," Trump said in a short statement in the Rose Garden at the White House. https://www.npr.org/2020/06/01/867467714/what-is-the-insurrection-act-that-trump-is-threatening-to-invoke
