Am I my brother's keeper? Coerced? Let me tell you something. I grew up in Detroit. Success is tied real strongly to a crabs in a bucket mentality. I grew up with really weak minded people, that made their own terrible life choices, some aren't alive today because of it. They were a drain on society then and they are a drain on society now. For some reason you just can't grasp that some people just don't want what others have. They don't care about the same values as others. It has nothing to do with coercion, they consciously chose "that life." And it's no one else's responsibility but their own. Case and point, I didn't want that for myself, so I bettered myself and left, because I wanted it. I wasn't coerced into success. Its called personal responsibility. Nobody did that shit to her but herself. Stop making excuses as to why people are fucked up, they just are, and sometimes they don't care to change when they have a choice. That is the reality, and sometimes there is no "solution." Sometimes pigs just want to wallow in their filth even if they have objectively better options.
The urban honeypot is real. I know the people you are talking about. They are never given a chance. Your skillset has allowed you to navigate to a better life. Many are victimised because they came from a place that did not require that skillset. So throw the baby out with the bath water.
