I hope you are right, it would be easiest for this to "clear up", but I doubt that. Last time we let this fester they turned to terror and educated a new generation of enemies.
I resent the implication that if we do something similar to the USSR or CCP that they fucked up, somehow we become like them.
The USSR fucked up Nuclear Reactors, and so now we can't have Nuclear Fission without people scared by Chernobyl protesting foolishly without understanding the details. We have to stop letting that awful history corrupt unrelated concepts.
