I think I had a run in with the virus right before it was a thing. I was getting waves of hot flashes and a racing heart where you'd try to breathe but couldn't breathe enough to calm it down.

I didn't know what was happening to me, never felt that way before in my life, and I honestly thought I might have been dying.

I can see how if a doc had said that I needed a ventilator, I just might have agreed.

I totally didn't a ventilator, btw. They just sent me home in an hour when I started feeling better. But when you're going through it, there's a whole lot of fear and uncertainty...and that's probably the worst thing about the severe symptoms.
