That’s wishful thinking on their part. Rudy says he’s got enough to put Biden in jail , so if nothing else I believe that a grand jury indictment would put a stop to everything else. Besides, Trump has other options; tbh once he lays out all the fraud on 1/6, if there’s no movement by congress to address the fraud, what’s to stop Trump from using the military to arrest them all for endorsing fraudulent electors? Would they not all be complicit in the fraud at that point? I honestly don’t know the end game, but i strongly doubt that Trump is ignorant enough to pin his hopes on Congress doing the right thing.

I actually agree. The legislatures and Congress are fucking cucks and if Trump thinks these same backstabbing mother fuckers are going to help him now, he is delusional.

What I AM hoping for is the the old ace up the sleeve. If Trump has a plan, then I believe there is a shot. He has plenty of options but leaving it up to Congress and the legislatures would be a HUGE fail.

Precedent only holds insofar as the factual elements are alike.

This election was unprecedented in all fronts: record fraud, novel weak voting process, novel voter levels believing it was stolen.

No precedent or ceremony has any value at this point.

It's not 'ceremonial'. This is the actual count. This is the second largest thing to count after Nov 4th. The official counting is when the 'president-elect' is officially chosen. Technically, Biden still isn't the President-Elect. Until the the votes are counted by Congress/Senate and certified by them in federal halls, there is no President-Elect. States Governors and SoS don't have the authority to name a Federal President. So them certifying it means nothing. They're not part of the Federal Government.

So, NPR is very, very ignorant to state these fallacies. If they knew anything about basic government, checks and balances, and basic logic, they'd know that. But that's asking A LOT from government funded radio. They're truly an embarrassment.

They are setting up a narrative. Coup attempt. That's what this propaganda is for.

Sadly, they’re correct

The reason is that even with the objections, the objections only cause a 2 hour debate per state.

Once the debate is over, the house and senate each vote to accept or reject the electors. The House is controlled by Dems and Senate does not have the votes.

This is not the same as no one getting to 270 and each state getting 1 vote, that would only be if the house and senate reject enough to take Biden under 270 and not give them to Trump.
