Cops will lie to your face to try to get you to admit things. I forget now all the details but I was accused of harassing phone calls or something, the cop stood there telling me my other friend had admitted it was us and I should just come clean. I pretty much told him he was full of shit.

Easier to just say sorry can't talk without a lawyer and then they can't try to trick you.
