I never had the chance to play this game, but was always intrigued by a number of things I heard about it, including the fact that one of the party members was a frog simply named Frog.
When I was 9 or 10, I got a used SNES in Gamestop, back in 2003. That was back when they had tons of old used retro stuff. I got a lot of games from there as well. I also got several SNES games on Ebay as well, not just Gamestop.
So even though the SNES was slightly before my time (I think they stopped selling around 1997, when I turned 4), I still got to have one as a significant part of my older childhood. Was very fond of it. So I have a kind of twisted nostalgia that's different from others who played one during its heyday.
It's been a long time since I got an old used game, but from time to time I often think of getting some again. So I'll look to see if there's a Chrono Trigger on SNES available whenever I do.
One thing that's concerned me a little is that I've heard that a lot of SNES games had a limited battery for their memory. After a couple of decades go by, the games can't save your progress anymore. So far that misfortune hasn't befallen any of my copies (last I checked), but I've been wary of this ever since I heard about it.

You HAVE to play it! Play the SNES version if possible (emulate it if you have to).

The actual cartridge is pretty expensive, so your best bet is to probably emulate it or play it on the Virtual Console.
