Your not trying to change the mind of the "classically trained chef", your changing the minds of everyone listening.

That’s the thing. They “believe” in science. But science is not about belief it is more about evidence and doubt, and being skeptical of all claims. What they are pushing is some kind of cult religion but it is not science as classically understood. Science is also about overturning current understanding with new based on new evidence while they are dogmatic in their beliefs that cannot be challenged

NEXTDOOR is just a ChiCom propaganda tool.

The Left thinks they have a lock on science because the controlled opposition Right was portrayed to be batshit crazy when it came to science.

Belief in "science" is a fundamentalist religion.

People need to live long enough to know that science routinely reverses itself. Most recent example is about masks and Covid.

Long time example is about whether better for infants to sleep on backs or tummy. I’m not even sure where things landed currently. But it will change again, that I’m sure of.

So thinking end of story is that science says it is short-sighted.

The problem is that the masks and covid thing isn't recent. We knew about this since at least the earlier 2000's after the SARS pandemic, and Dr. Fauci himself literally did a study on the spanish flu (also a covid virus from china) where he determined the vast majority of deaths weren't from the flu itself but instead were because of people wearing masks all the time and getting severe respiratory infections because of all the bacteria build up in the masks.

There's a reason that Fauci said that masks don't work or help to begin with, because he literally did a peer reviewed study that proved it.

When the results of a series of events are the same every time, science doesn't reverse itself. Some babies probably do better on their tummies, others are their backs. Or maybe it varies by temperature, humidity, weight, diet . . . but we're pretty sure masks are bad for us and sure as hell don't prevent viruses, and that's not likely to change much more than current theories that the earth revolves around the sun.
