We had two Jamaican citizens in our BCT unit back in 1970, both were great and everyone loved it when they called out cadence when we were marching. A lot of people stopped and watched us march by.

There was an African guy in my platoon in boot camp. You can gain French citizenship by serving in the Legion. It’s pretty common.

Service guarantees citizenship.

Would you like to know more?

Edit: For the faggot who downvoted, it’s a Starship Troopers quote. Fucking moron.

That's what I always understood. Is there more to it?

It doesn’t guarantee citizenship, but residency application is aided by service.

What I posted above was a quote from Starship Troopers.

I had a Vietnamese kid in my platoon at Parris Island. Dude could barely speak English, but he worked his ass off. The Senior DI picked on him all the time. One evening at mail call, he made Receuit Nguyen run around the parade deck with his hands in the air yelling, "gooks in the wire, gooks in the wire." I felt bad for the guy.

Late 70's early 80's?

I had my ass handed to me daily because our Co 1st Sgt was a Jr DI under my Uncle. When he found out the relationship, his exact words were, "We're going to have entertainment every day up until, if, you graduate!"

I'm guessing he didn't get his little feelings hurt and went on to earn the DI's [unexpressed] respect?

Also served with two Ghanans. One was a complete room temperature IQ fuckwad who was seriously dumb as fuck, and would get into arguments with NCOs all the time. The other was my fuckin boy. We’d talk African politics all the time and he was super surprised to see a white guy into that shit. We had a lot of good talks in the dead of night sharing smokes with our nods on, not giving a fuck about light discipline.

Been saying this forever, anchor babies and illegals and all foreigners have no business in our military and only weakens it. Dont care about the incoming stories of people serving with X non-citizen.

More easy for you, no gays or women in military PERIOD, non-citizens as well, but vetted ones. America has had lots of hero non-citizens. But not ones from turd world countries. We had africans try the NAVY swim test and fail it all the way until graduation. WHY where there like 3 sickle cell africans in my navy boot camp??

Green card soldiers/sailors/marines. It's common. It's a good thing. They are normally motivated to get good marks so they can get that big goal. citizenship.

I'll still Reee over this idiot killing an American.

The vast majority of the non-citizens I served with were above average as far as work ethic went.
