With this insane bill being introduced in NY, I'm getting really concerned about living here. Almost nobody in my life understands the level of danger we are in. I am keeping track of this bill, right now it's 'in committee.' It would still have to pass the senate and some other things before it became law.
However, if that law starts getting close to being passed, I legit think I need to just book it out of here. And I'm really not sure what to even do in that circumstance.
I have a brother in Oklahoma, so I guess I'd drive out that way. Maybe stay there for a little bit and try to find work. I wouldn't mind living in South Dakota but I have no ties to anything there. I don't know about finding a place to live. I am pretty clueless.
What would you guys even do in this situation? What would your thought process be? Any tips, advice, because this shit is absolutely insane.
If you have family here come on...there is plenty of work and freedom to go around

That's Oklahoma you're talking about? Question- when it comes to small towns/rural areas what do you think my odds of finding a decent lil painting job would be? Or would it be Oklahoma City or bust
You need to do research on demographics of towns & cities of the state. Look for a town that is on the upswing economically- and has a population of at least 10,000 people. You know you do not like city living-so why move to a city-that does not make sense. kwim?
My personal observation about Oklahoma is that they love their Bible & their churches. You have not mentioned if you will be alright surrounded with folk that expect you to love the Bible as well-it is part of the culture. If you are accepted into their culture, they will be the best of friends and neighbors ever....remember-you are arriving as "the outsider" so mind your p's & q's....
I am Christian, I wouldn't mind being surrounded by those kind of people. Demographics are important to me. Don't want to go to any ghetto kind of place. A nice small town would be nice, but I have to balance that with finding work I suppose. I am the kind of person that is very stuck in his ways and never likes big change, so this is just a lot to handle. I do love it where I love in NY. Commie psychopathic tyrants are ruining one of the greatest places on Earth.
Seems to me that there is always work for a skilled painter that has a good work ethic. Cost of living in smaller communities tends to be very low, so starting out without a client base and being low on cash until you get steady work should not be a problem.
Nazarene.org has a very strong base in Oklahoma. Check it out. You will find good people there that will help you connect with others in the community & that will solve your employment needs.
Easy you can do it
I’m east of Tulsa a bit...in rural Oklahoma ....there is plenty to do all over city life sucks though
