Music is what geopolitical types call a ‘soft power’. America used to produce music that people all over the world admired, and by association, they admired America. I do not think it is a coincidence that as the communists infiltrated America’s entertainment and political institutions, the quality of promoted music went down the drain. There is still good music being made, but none of it is promoted by the big labels or radio stations. I can barely listen to popular music stations these days. I think the music on those stations is awful by design.

I have been thinking the same thing for many years. Like a lot of things it is cheaply manufactured and promoted. No artistry.

The CIA and other deep state forces have infiltrated all of popular culture.

We can take our culture back -- our music, literature, everything.

The time to start is now.

YEP. one of the 45 points on the checklist in the Naked Communist is to degrade art in general, and that applies to music and architecture also.

Pretty sure it's declassified info / open secret that intelligence agencies were involved in the past modernism art movement

Hard to fathom how someone could purposefully introduce shittiness into a medium and think they're the good guys

Yes. The CIA freely admitted to pushing Pollock, Rothko, etc.

The 21st century sucks in so many ways, music being one of them. Music died in the 90s. Remember the 60s and Motown? Those were the days. Rap is crap. Country is crap. Taylor Smith is crap. Everything is crap, and now I can’t even be allowed to breathe fresh air.

You nailed it exactly. There is no melody, only words. Things are bad when you look forward to commercial jingles for music these days. This is so sad. There used to be great tunes 100 yrs ago, some were reworked and became popular again in the 60s. It used to be so great to toot down the road with the AM radio blaring, punching buttons to switch stations, an abundance of great music.

Most big chart toppers today are created via committee. Real artists are a rarity when it comes to top 40.

Long live 80s metal. Music died in the mid 90s.

60s rock and roll was the best. But yes, music started dying in the 90s

A big part of this is a direct result of Bill Clinton's crony capitalism is the form of the 1996 Telecommunications Act.

This shady Act is the driving force that allowed the established broadcasters of the day to go wild with Mergers & Acquisitions, by deregulating "cross-ownership" and paving the way from 50 major media companies at the time... To 90% of all news & entertainment being owned, produced, and distributed by the big 6 of today's Main Stream Media (Comcast, Disney, Time Warner, News Corp, National Amusements, and Sony).

While there has been a long slide in quality since, say, the Golden Era of Hollywood... And definitely Communist infiltration even way back then...

I think most would agree that there is a noticeable dip in quality of most American media (music, TV, movies, news, etc) around that same time in 1996 - 97.

That, plus:

• the "Participation Trophy" generation, • the rise & popularization of Wokeness (Political Correctness / Critical Theory), • the corporatization of entertainment, • the politicization of everything, and...

... Well damn!!! American entertainment is getting shitty these days!

No inspiration, no soul. Just more ads, more plastic regurgitated crap, more degeneracy.

All by design! The Post-Modern Globalist vision. 🤮

I agree with you. This issue has many complexities, but at the end of the day, the Telecommunications Act did set the entertainment industry (including music) back immensely. It’s easier to control and influence 6 entertainment corporations compared to the 50+ that preceded them. It would be great if we could break up this monopoly.

Just like living under communism. No art of any kind. Just what the State says

There is still good new music but it's on indie stations. Here's a good station to listen to. Also, the DJ is based but keeps politics out of most of it. http://www.926theblitz.rocks

It's the business side of things, it's become too nepotistic and uncreative. Go out and listen to local live music and support local artists who I assure you can be extremely good, but they'd never get a contract or a record deal. We need to start organizing and sponsoring our own fairs and music festivals and make sure these talented folks don't throw in the towel early in their promising careers. I swear I want to buy a lot of farm land and have bands play every other weekend and folks be able to camp out.

All art fairs and similar events were cancelled by govt this yr. Each state cancelled these events. I am an artist. Same for my artist friends all over the country. No income at all this yr because summer was cancelled. I have an outdoor event scheduled in a few wks but I probably will cancel because you cant make money when the promoters want to keep people away from your booth in the name of social distancing and you have to wear a mask. Smiles sell, masks inhibit, so why bother just to break even.

I hate hearing that. It won't be longer, Americans are sick of this bullshit, but I think we should have a renaissance after this of supporting local talents instead of this evil music business where only the folks at the top make all the money, where you don't have to be good, just connected or willing to do whatever some producer demands of you and where so many talented folks never get anywhere with it.

Are there any festivals you would suggest in normal times for Americans to pay more attention to?

DebbieinDallas 2 points ago +2 / -0

Just go on the internet and search for art fairs in your state or wherever you want to go. I am sure just about all of them have a website or some online presence. The summer ones are usually free and fun, or at least they used to be

Music as part of a satanic mind control program. It can’t be entertaining and advance their agenda.
