But what happens if he does anyway because he falls in the trap of "if i don't allow Biden to win we will have leftist riots?"...people need to stop worrying about that. You're going to have riots win or lose. If Biden wins, the riots are just the continuation of the summer with the extension to the suburbs Iike they promised
Well, he can seat both, reject both, or just select the Republican electors. If he goes straight Democrat electors from the swing states and we have to rely on objections, we are probably screwed.
So, the question really comes down to, is Pence going to take the action that will maximize our chances?
Strictly looking at it from an outsider perspective, he has zero reason to not choose the Fuck the Democrats option. He is attached to the hip to Trump and has no future without supporting him and there's now way he can't know that.
If he plays nice with the RINO establishment, what is his best case scenario? Future presidential candidate? The Trump base would never support a guy that pussed out with overwhelming amounts of fraud. Future senator from Indiana? after being a VP that's a move down. Go back to being Governor? The worst case is he is forever castigated by the Trump base and never holds office again.
If he decides to take the fight to the Dems and play hardball, even if he goes down swinging, at least he hast the Trump base that will always remember that he fought for Trump. He could be a presidential candidate. Of course best case is a win and 4 more years with Trump.
I just don't see the advantage of him not taking the hardball course of action.
Lin Wood is neither crazy or stupid. All of his theatrics are straight out of the Trump playbook. It's the only way to cut through the noise and draw attention.
I think that Pence is keeping the cards close to the vest and the strategy is to continue to have other parties get involved and not rely on him being the sole magic bullet. It needs to be a team effort.
The below is 100% right (naaklavaar comment). Without a majority in house and senate, I don’t think Pence can switch or reject any states electors...and we just don’t have the vote. That’s why Pence had the courts reject the lawsuit that named him. It’s Congress that has to nullify each and every state that is in question with a majority.
I get it. Does Pence have any true (not extreme) legal precedence to read in the Trump electors over the Biden electors? I think he has to have strong precedence or it won’t happen.
Pence won’t do that without strong precedent or some truth nuclear bomb that gets dropped / released between now and the 6th...no way. I think we would need an overwhelming showing in the House and Senate to serve as Pence’s backbone. We don’t even have the majority of Republicans.
Trump has a path if Pence rejects both sets. Then no one has 270 and its not about a majority its about 270. Then they have a contingent election which each state gets 1 vote. And there are 6 or 7 states with more republicans then democrats. Even if 3 or 4 turncoat he still wins.
Yup, all this bullshit would stop if those state legislatures had the nuts to stand up and do the right thing.

Spell it out for me...I would very much like to be wrong in this instance because I’m seeing a mountain to climb and it doesn’t feel good.

Nixon Hawaii 1960
I feel like the states need to de-certify to pave the way for him.
Everything you said is wrong.
Military action is the only way.
