The Jewish community in NYC probably live in fear of the regular citizens ratting them out because the Jewish community has gotten away with so much shit in NYC, like defrauding the government to buy public school buildings for well below market valuation. You can't just do that without people in the government letting you do it.

This is an extension of the citizen's anger against the government, because traditionally, Jewish groups get what they wanted from the government, and now they are easy targets. Maybe their landlord is Jewish (or Chinese lol) and has been giving them a hard time for a few years for no reason, or the building he runs has water pouring out of the light fixtures (true story) this is the chance every little guy has to get back at the big guy for all the trouble, whether or not they are actually involved. Not saying it's justified at ALL, just pointing out the situation.
