Today there’s a vote for who’s the next Speaker of the House (3rd in line to prez, probably has some influence in what Bills get air time in the chamber)
Nance shat the bed over the last 2 years and cost her caucus a dozen some odd seats in November. This is in addition to a small group of Dems that did not support her speakership two years ago. She needs virtually every D vote today and she’s likely not going to get it, meaning McCarthy (R) could realistically be Speaker at the end of the day.
The big kick in the balls is WuFlu - some Dems will not be present to vote today which costs Nance even more votes. TDLR she’s fucked and today could be a pretty cool day..
