It’s even worse for “bad colds” in the elderly causing issues. It just doesn’t usually get assigned to death by cold. There a studies that found rhinovirus causes more deaths in long term care facilities than the flu due to respiratory complications.

Sounds about right. The virus wipes out the immune system and it's the ordinarily beatable conditions like pneumonia that kill.

If you're under 40, you'll be fine. Age is the best predictor of lethality.

Here in Seattle we count traffic fatalities, suicides, drug overdoses, murder victims, etc, as Covid deaths as long as the body tests positive.
