Fuck me you're right, the I didn't look at the rear sight well enough.. It's a two state apature and not the flip up sliding rear site if the No.5..Still a damn sad waste of a great surplus weapon..Have always had a fondness for British rifles, I have multiple No. 1 and just one No. 4..I bought a sportorized No. 5 but had a military stock made for it, bought a money trap of a Martini Henry that took about two grand to make it safe to fire..Now I just need a Snider and a Lee-Metford..
Indeed, though I can't claim mine is in original condition due to the stock having been replaced, it's unfortunate because it was a war time produced weapon..Easy way to tell a fake from a legit model is pull the front hand guard and the barrel should have lightening cuts... No cuts means you have a No.4 that has been faked.. I actually wanted one of the Gibbs "No.5" but they are almost equally the cost of a legit rifle..
Barrel looks like 16". A company known for its choke tubes makes a few 18 1/2" barrels that can be shipped to California, if that's the commie state you mean.
You're correct I looked it up. You can't blame me it's so much to keep up with the lawyers don't know what's going on. Besides I am a California native and I assure you most people regard these laws not even in the slightest. At least the kids people I knew and grew up around.
I had amounted so much stuff during the times it was legal back in the day. To watch myself become a felon overnight multiple times.
I'm not surrendering my most valued possessions. That I bought legally. Will you guys? I hope your answer is fuck no.
Seriously I know people with stuff you wouldn't believe could exist in California. There probably more than basically every state. It's just all not documented like the people.
Can't blame me, I lived there decades and no one payed those laws any attention. We had several "assault weapons" in my house as well as every other gun owner I knew. But you're right i checked Fagafornias law right now.
When my grandfather was still in service in cuba. We used to go to the arsenal and he would let me handle with the firearms. There was an sks which was used at for basically training recruits and another parade activity. So there was sks in the arsenal so i went in took it. I loved the sks and the romanian AKM that was in the arsenal. So it was the sks with a beautiful woodstock. There was not alot of sks in cuba but alot of akm and ak47. So most of the cuban aks were really trashy. Cuban firearms production is bad since what they really do is get weapons from other nations and basically take the serial numbers and scrap it off. They did take rifle parts and assembled them and produced some akms' but only a few and they were bad. Everyone in the FAR in cuba knows that the best akm is the romanian made. If you are in The FAR you get to shoot the rifle alot more than if your in the minit which means basically anything that has to do within the nation like police and things like that. Cuban millitary has alot of interesting firearms from most eastern block nations and old chinese ak's. IF anyone wants to ask about firearms in cuba and all of that just comment. Also I am not a commie but my family has alot of history in being millitary so yeah not a commie.
It looks like the stock was all that was modified, probably a good candidate for an easy restoration. If it were mine if throw a new forearm/upper hand guard with the band hardware on there and call it good.
Very nice! I have an Enfield No.5 as well! Mine was war surplus from 1946 (didn't see service), and was factory modified for sniper use (no iron sights or bayonet lug, just straight barrel)
Lol not my gun/picture but I do enjoy enfields! Alot of the no5s were made domestically here after the war out of surplus no4s so I've learned to be careful what to look for. I'd love to find an original no5 though. I've got a lend lease savage, a 1918 enfield and and ishapore 2a.
Err, how the hell can you tell the caliber just by looking at the gun from a distance? There are dozens of guns in different caliber that would look the exact same.
Do you know what make your no4 is? It looks almost like a savage (lend lease) but I've never seen a flat lanyard loop like that before. Most all I've seen the lanyard loop is made out of a bent piece of wire.
You should definitely do a little research, you might have a rare or uncommon variation. Most of the savage made (lend lease) guns had US Property stamped along the top of the receiver and this makes them pretty easy to identify. Also they had the simple two aperture flip sight similar to the ones on the m16 a1/a2. The British and Canadian guns should have markings on the receiver where the rear stock mounts up, usually a crown over a GR for the British made guns and Long Branch for the Canadian made ones.
This is interesting, the markings look like savage but I'm not seeing a US property stamp on the top of the receiver. It looks like it might have been refinished at one point because the 1942 date has been scrubbed out a little bit. I was looking at long branch proof marks and none of the proof marks on your guns barrel fit. Also the English proof marks are very noticeable and your gun does not have them. If I had to guess it may be a very early savage made lend lease gun.
Fantastic. You realize the reason you have these is the 2nd amendment? These are tools to oust and kill people in government who are enemies of this nation?
Rifles are for killing. Not fun photos and bragging.
Nice collection. Jealous of the barrel length you have on your shotgun. I live in a commie state where it basically needs to be a broom stick.
boom stick
Gun photos get stickied, but major bombshells like Italy’s involvement in the coup against Trump.
Jealous of that enfield no 5...
It's a sporterized no. 4

What tipped me off is the length , the stock and yes the rear sight.
An as issued no.5 actually fetches quite the price these days and they're becoming harder to find and there are fakes out there.

It's not.

California let's you have 16 inch shotguns of all types. Unless you got a saiga 12 it might needs mag lock or a stupid fin paddle grip.
18 inches

No foul...Its hard to know all the laws when they make them confusing on purpose so its easier to arrest you
I was told I lived in a free country growing up. That must have changed sometime.
Is that a commie mag in that AR? Ooooof
ikr! If it ain't 30 rds, what's the point?
Why Bubba, why?
Am I the only one that has a SKS in my collection?
It’s a great rifle 👍🏼
I have one.

I've seen some in pictures here over the years
I had 12 at one time...now have 4
Time to move to a real state.
I agree.
What is the 2nd one up from the bottom? I don't recognize that fella.
No. 4 MkI enfield, WW2 british. Its been sporterized by someone cutting the forestock short.
Oh God it hurts 😢
It looks like the stock was all that was modified, probably a good candidate for an easy restoration. If it were mine if throw a new forearm/upper hand guard with the band hardware on there and call it good.
Is the lighting off, or is that light rust on your front sight shroud?

The #5s are great for collectibility's sake. But God, do they ever hammer your shoulder.
The 2A is a great rifle that doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
I have a real marlin 30-30 with the S on the barrel, made in 1985 crazy
Dat leaver action is makin my dick sweat.
Are their any modern lever action rifles?
Henry makes highly reviewed lever actions in a huge variety of calibers and when I've been in bass pro they've always had a few
Thankyou

Why won't my Sunday gunday pic post? It has a x across the pic. Excuse my ignorance.
Is that a 30/30 levergun? I have one but ammo prices are hell
1964 marlin 336 RC, never fired
what caliber?
It's a 30-30. That is the caliber.
Err, how the hell can you tell the caliber just by looking at the gun from a distance? There are dozens of guns in different caliber that would look the exact same.
Yeah, they don't to the trained eye but thanks for playing!
Nice, love the classic wood. Need to add a .22LR semi-auto pistol and .22LR rifle to the mix + 10k worth of ammo.
30/30 Nice
Those will do just fine
vortex sight is great !! nice setup
Top to Bottom: -Mossberg 500 -1964 Marlin 336 R.C. (never fired) -Sig Sauer 1991 We The People Edition -1942 no4 MK1 -AR15

no clue, all II know about it is that it was my father's uncle's. it was sitting in a basement closet for decades.

I took a few pictures of the markings. Some of them are pretty worn.

Beautiful family! I hope you keep adding to it like a good daddy should.
Looks like a Marlin 336 to me.
Looks like an old 30-30 I had 40 years ago
1776 1911 = BA
Whomever sportorized that enfield No.5 should have been shot..
that rifle looks just like my 7.62 AR i got at towers armory
Oh, that's a beaut!
Nice glock.
I have three of the pictured. Love my Enfield 303.
Looking at that Enfield gives me a sad. Nice otherwise.
Beautiful guns. I have a marlin 30-30 as well. Henry does make some amazing lever actions. Also check out marlins dark series, and the 45-70 sbl
Fantastic. You realize the reason you have these is the 2nd amendment? These are tools to oust and kill people in government who are enemies of this nation?
Rifles are for killing. Not fun photos and bragging.
OP any interest in selling that Lee enfield No. 4?
gotta love lever actions.
The perfect collection.
Wood. Lots of it.
I've been opting for the shorter floating rails, and simpler stocks, to cut weight on my AR models.
guns are fucking awesome you metrosexual low testosterone he-she whats-that gun hating giant bleeding vagine from cucktopia!
you dont fuck with tradition.
sounds like you would prefer photos of covid masks
Found the fun police
Fuck off shill. Should be deported just based off your comment history.
All communities need tradition.
They're an emergent expression of shared interest.
Not all are for you.
Move along.
