Fuck me you're right, the I didn't look at the rear sight well enough.. It's a two state apature and not the flip up sliding rear site if the No.5..Still a damn sad waste of a great surplus weapon..Have always had a fondness for British rifles, I have multiple No. 1 and just one No. 4..I bought a sportorized No. 5 but had a military stock made for it, bought a money trap of a Martini Henry that took about two grand to make it safe to fire..Now I just need a Snider and a Lee-Metford..
Indeed, though I can't claim mine is in original condition due to the stock having been replaced, it's unfortunate because it was a war time produced weapon..Easy way to tell a fake from a legit model is pull the front hand guard and the barrel should have lightening cuts... No cuts means you have a No.4 that has been faked.. I actually wanted one of the Gibbs "No.5" but they are almost equally the cost of a legit rifle..
Jealous of that enfield no 5...
It's a sporterized no. 4

What tipped me off is the length , the stock and yes the rear sight.
An as issued no.5 actually fetches quite the price these days and they're becoming harder to find and there are fakes out there.
