I have had a thinning of the herd. Two years ago, I started telling my friends that they had to get a CCW.
That's when I found out who would defend this Republic and their family and who was in on the takeover (as long as they weren't armed and would be promised some kind payout)

This is quite true. Ideology is everything to them, and if you fail to toe the line and refuse to bend the knee to them, they will turn from "friend" to foe instantly. I've seen this play out many times on social media and in real life. Their only true love, loyalty, and allegiance is to their ideology.

I think it is the other way. We are super elite kernels of love. The "friends" are flaky chaff blowing in the wind. When things we calm, we didn't notice the difference too much. But in the storm - oh yeah.

Personal experience: Was married to a narcissist for 20 years and finally had enough. I stopped conceding to her demands and control tactics. Yep I've always been able to have civil discussions about any topic with my family, 9/11 truth, aliens, psychopaths ruling the world etc. It started with a little bit with Putin when he stood up to the neocons invading Syria, my family started to be completely shut down in their opinions that Putin was Hitler.
Then soon after when Trump came around their minds quickly became completely shut to any outside information. Everything Trump did was bad, end of discussion.
At first they thought covid lockdowns and masks were bullshit but now that the establishment democrats back it they don't question it anymore. Its the first time I've just had to completely avoid discussion on the topics. Every fact I try to present is already blocked in their minds by fake news they read on google. Nothing can penetrate.

I just talked to my dad and family members about what is going on. They were shocked to hear the news. They didn't know anything was going on.

Here is the ugly truth. A lot of people can not survive on their own, and can only make it by leeching off the productivity of others. Other people, can not survive on their own strength emotionally, and can not function with out the approval of their peer group around them. Between these two groups of people, freedom scares the hell out of them. The more the system as it is goes bankrupt, the more desperate they become to keep up the facade, because fixing it means facing emotional and financial facts that they can't deal with.

I have several arguments per week with family and friends who “are shocked” that I, a former college professor in a hard science could be “so stupid”. This whole thing has been a real eye opener into the gullibility and outright stupidity of much of our citizenry. Any challenge to their beliefs is met with an oversized emotional reaction that defies logic. Its scary.

It is driving me crazy how stupid people are. I am down to my husband and a couple of his friends. Everyone else, including our families, are pro mask, lockdown and vaccine. They get off on it. I am a psychology student so once the numbers weren't adding up, I saw through the bullshit. So many are still blind and begging to be locked down again.
