Colt M16A2 RR with an AM-15 upper. This system feeds from the drum on top. The PMAG is hollowed out and has the feed lips cut and is used to collect spent brass.
how does it feed from the drum? Is there a link you can send...I really like it and want to learn more.
I don't see how it would feed from the picture because the drum is mounted very far forward on the rifle, even forward of the magazine and ejection port. I don't see it feeding into the bolt unless there is something I don;t know about like a model I've never seen.
Most drums usually fit up into the mag well and feed in rounds via the same way as the mag. Some ww2 era machine guns like the Degtyaryov machine gun and Russian DP28 LMG feed rounds via a drum from the top, but have not seen any modern weapon platforms that drum feed from the top and also allow a mag feed.
I am guessing this gun is semi-auto, but still have never seen a double feed system like this and would love to read more. I love gun history and design evolution...if there is a link or more info on this double feed or top drum design can you link?
...If I did own this gun, and that drum does infact feed...I would put in a rarebreed trigger...: )
