Awesome rifle. How long to do a mag change? I love 22LR and have about 15 hand guns and long guns combined. They're definitely viable for self defense at the right range.
takes seconds to swap spent drum with a fully loaded drum that has a pre-wound winder (those black things on the floor). It takes about 7~10 minutes to load a drum using a special tray and a base (not needed but sure makes it easier and faster) because there is not spring tension. when loaded you can snap on the winder and spin it 2.5 times plus one full revolution per layer. Drums come in metal as well as plastic and 3,4 or 5 layers -165, 220 and 265 rounds capacity.
