Well, I'd say its because the whole of Europe, especially England, France and Scandinavian countries are Democratic Socialist. They have a cradle to grave government welfare system. They don't have to pay for anything but their taxes are ridiculous. Complete opposite of the good old USA 👍
I used to think the same, but I actually wonder if that isn't true.
We now know there are no "blue states", and if elections were legitimate it's very likely places like California and New York might actually be fairly consistently red in who they elect.
I think Europe is similar. Some European countries definitely hate us overall, but there are many, especially those that don't get media spotlight very often, that are actually significantly less left wing than many say. I believe it's Denmark for example that has "free" healthcare and "free" educational options, but simultaneously lacks a minimum wage or about 90% of the welfare machine we have.
Central and Eastern European states are similar; take Poland: Free university-level education and free healthcare options, but they recently eliminated one of their few abortion legality instances, leaving the only legal abortions being ones that go through a giant process of vetting (several doctors, etc.) and only with very specific circumstances. Not perfect, but way better than here or most other places.
Without going too crazy, I would say this: Don't discount Europeans as allies. Allies under occupation, to be sure, but many more of the citizenry support us than we may realize.
