I know this is a bit off-topic but I'm sure most won't mind.
How much thought or reporting has gone into the idea that a portion of the increase in "COVID" cases over past month or so is explicitly because of all the precautions we've been taking have actually lowered immune systems?
ABSOLUTELY.
You need exposure for immunity, no amount of supplements, diet or exercise replace that. Masks and staying inside and isolated hinder it
I actually just came up with this thought sitting here but isn't it so bizarre how people have seemingly thrown away 100% of their rational thinking?
My boss is a genius level guy. Stoic. Has made a fortune. But he has TDS and strongly believes this virus is an apocalyptic crisis. (I hope I'm not being too hyperbolic in my view of him. I have a lot of respect for him.)
Where have you been? Lots of people have thrown away rational thinking a long time ago.
lol
Just because this is the first time you're seeing me express that idea doesn't mean it's the first time I've had it. :P
I've know this for a long time but making conversation.
Masks, the most common kind that a large percentage of people wear to be compliant, don't work. They aren't reducing exposure.
If exposure remains the same, immunity remains the same for the above factor.
A lot of communication is body language. Much of that is micro-facial gestures. A mask hides those. That creates systemic stress in the listener and speaker, whether they are aware of it consciously or not.
There is something about the systemic stress that may reduce immunity. However, the numbers are so fudged, that to pick that relationship out of the propaganda seems meaningless.
Good point on the masks. I was thinking more in lines of the huge increase in anti-bacterial wipes/sprays/gels/etc. and the potential over-washing of hands.
