I am trying to learn more about this topic. I am in California and you can go online and confirm which party your registered to and also if your ballot was received but you cannot find out if your vote was counted as cast... I am trying to decide if there is some shadiness to this or maybe its some kind of a voter privacy issue...

If you could check that your vote was cast for certain persons then you could be paid, beaten, or blackmailed for your vote. The individual vote must be secret and security of each vote and the tally must be ensured.

They probably set it up that way so that you don't get notified if someone votes on your behalf...
They could easily provide a printed unique ID and then publish the unique ID with the recorded vote. Unfortunately that only covers vote switching. Still need a way to prevent non-existent, non-citizen voting. That would require outlawing general mail-in voting (absentee voting in certain cases still allowed).
I just find it strange that I cannot check my vote was counted exactly like I cast it...
I’m in Australia so it’s different here, but the whole point is that your vote is deidentified. So we can tell IF you voted but nobody should ever be able to see HOW you voted. From outside the US, it seems insane that your vote could ever be counted as anything other than what you cast! We just have paper ballots, you know that if you fill your paper in right that’s how it gets counted.
Well the videos / fraud reports they posted on how the dominion voting machines work - had this process where they scan your ballot and if the machine errors - it gets sent for adjudication and that person can basically select who to vote electronically on your behalf. I saw that the USPS filed a patent for block chain voting last year. I thought this would be a unhackable vote that we would know the results instantly.
Secret ballot. Think of what happens when the woke brigade tracks your political donations. Or your local health inspector/CPS official gets a hard on for the 'enemy'. Or your child's teacher/principal knows you vote the 'wrong' way.
People often vote differently from registration, and some states actually don't register by party.
Ever heard of strategic voting, i.e. registering for the opposite party to help manipulate the primary candidates?(promote forward the worst/weakest candidate in the primary in order to beat them in the general)
Interesting - CA doesn't have primaries but I have lived in states in the past that do... I have not heard of strategic voting though... I see the logic...
In NY the ballot has no name on it. So if you’re in person they know you signed in but if the machine is jammed like it was for me, there is no way to know that specific ballot was scanned by the poll workers. Same thing with mail in once its out of the envelope the specific ballot is anonymous, the amount should match though (1 envelope = 1 vote). But we know it doesnt. They set it up this way so you can’t catch them cheating. Thats why everyone who says georgia or michigan is the worst for voter fraud. No they just haven’t baked it into the voting system officially yet
