There's nothing wrong with being prepared, I'm even bringing enough to ensure that I'll be fine for a whole day and possibly overnight if necessary. I can resupply quickly, so no worries for us locals.
We just don't want the entire shift down rhetoric to discourage anyone from showing up, because some are using it as a means for basically saying: "You won't be able to arrive, supply, nourish, or rest here, so there's no point in coming!"
I thought the "shutdown" stuff was to suggest being prepared. I'm seeing tons of suggestions on how to keep warm outdoors and keep food on hand.
