with blackmail, the power comes from the act of the evidence collection. the evidence only needs to be collected once. then a single threat and occasional reminders. it's far cheaper and more effective to blackmail.
Understood, I guess if it's a one-to-one basis like someone that isn't in a position of power necessarily, then bribery could work. But when there's multiple opportunities for people to out-bribe each other I understand why blackmail works better.
In Mexico it’s “Gold or led?” As in you get paid to do our bidding or you get killed. And guess what, you don’t have to kill too many people before the rest will do your bidding for next to nothing. It’s evil but in this fallen world it works for those with no decency.
