Waiting for the appeal to pass.

They have no legal reason to keep him locked up after the extradition hearing.

Maybe Trump asked them to block it so he didn't have to pardon him - I'm sure there's a segment of the US population that are pro-Trump but also feel like Assange endangered the public / armed forces.

Either he walks after this - banished from the US or our gov keep him locked up until he 'dies from covid'.
