Shitty times when reddit started fucking with us. Now this! So glad to be a part of this success.
Honest question because I don't understand social media or tech in general. If there are 2.5 million unique viewers, how is it that there are only 23,500 upvotes on a post that's been stickied for weeks? Are there really that many people who just lurk?
Everyone I know that comes here that I told dont have an account. I'll bet a ton of people dont have one. We're mentioned by Rush, Crowder, Bannon, etc.
Still that's only like 1% of readers that engage. I guess we really are the silent majority, ha.
Well look at Twitter. The vocal tweeters of like 90% of all tweets represent like 5% of their userbase. How many people dont even have twitter accounts that go there and browse specific tweets. I dont have an account but still dredge through tweet threads. Doubtless the same holds true here.
Unique viewers does not mean accounts and not everyone upvotes. All it means is people from different IP addresses. I don't even think this post is accurate since I imagine primetime viewership is based on the average they get per hour. Obviously primetime has a higher amount of views but you would need to calculate how many hours they get in a day if you really wanted to compare the two. On top of it one is a television show and the other is a web forum. A more reasonable comparison would be to check their traffic numbers on their websites.

Truthfully though, how many people are on this site? More than 4 million? This never gets discussed. We used to complain that the numbers were fake on reddit, but here we are. Less than 30,000 have updooted the Presidents call, which has been the first sticky for over a week.
Twitters active users account for 95% of total activity yet represent like 5% of their userbase. Many people lurk through entire tweet threads yet never actually participate, like, retweet etc, including me. I haven't done any of those in years, yet still post tweets here.
The people I've gotten to come to thedonald.win that I work with tell me they fucking love this place, yet not a single one of them have an account. They just read the posts.
It's already sticky, why does it need my updoot? Probably other members think the same.
