Yes, originally, But it’s still Latin. And old English, and Greek. I keep seeing people correct others by saying it’s Hebrew instead of Latin and it’s incredibly annoying.

It’s also آمن in Arabic. It’s also a derivative of the name of the Egyptian god Amun which is sometimes also spelled Amen. But why would I need to explain this? This isn’t an etymology class.
