I support the use of those nukes. The alternative, an invasion of Japan, would have been many more dead. The Japanese were arming their civilians for an attack and telling them that they would be tortured and raped by Americans, and they would have fought to the death, women and children included. A million casualties, most of whom would have been civilians. In many ways, what the Japanese did was as bad or worse than the NAZIs. For whatever reason, their crimes were not focused on as much.
That being said, there is no shortage of crimes committed by Americans in war. That’s the nature of war. What happened to the German people after both great wars was an atrocity that went overlooked, and it has continued to this day as they are now forced to take refugees who never suffered because of the NAZI regime and in many cases did and still support the eradication of Jews.
