You are correct. The Pilatus PC12 is THE aircraft to own for travel within the US.
One of my clients flew Gulfstreams - he said all rich people all think exactly the same and all go to the same exact places, meaning good luck getting air space out of Miami. He said the better idea is to get something like Pilatus, go VFR until you get room. A cruise approaching 400 mph sipping fuel in a very large aircraft. Can not be beat. Can land in a lot of small places closer to where you want to be.
I am sure you know but just to be clear to other Pedes - This aircraft appears to be a Cirrus SR22. I think it is now among the most common single engines.
Speaking of turboprops, the TBM930 is a sick plane. Unfortunately, I've only flown it in the MS flight sim, but if it's similar to it's real life counterpart, I bet it's a blast. Those SR22s are nice, too. Flew one briefly with a buddy who owned it, but not nearly as fast as some of those speedy turbos.
When you fly to DC, I'm assuming you have to pay the airport to store your plane for a few days until you go home? Is that pretty expensive? Very cool.
THOSE AREN'T PILLOWS!
Safe travels pede :)
Hahaa cool :D I was just quoting from the film Planes Trains and Automobiles cause of your title... totally forgot about Mike.

I believe it's a 1965 Piper Cherokee (with Tri-Blade Prop)
edit: Didn't realize the Submitter had already responded and I was inaccurate.
That’s not a Pilatus, it’s a piper Cherokee
Nice! I was thinking a boat but that's good too.
