I’m a teacher in VA. Between classes I checked my email and once again saw that my department had been invited to peruse some equity podcasts being hosted by a nearby high school.

Although it doesn’t seem mandatory, I clicked on the link out of interest – especially in case there was a sign-up log.

I suppose I’ll post a screenshot later, but the podcast titles and subjects revolve around “teaching while white”, “white families”, etc.

They’ll never stop, will they? I have one local schoolboard supervisor whose a conservative, but even our “Republican” Senator avoids phone calls and emails about this stuff (raised another issue back in Spring - she avoided the subject).

There’s literally not a single outlet I can think of where our county parents can see what the schools are up to. Phrases like “we all know that the biggest issues in public schooling stem from whiteness”. No shit.

I’m fuming mad. I just want to boost kids’ literacy & critical thinking.
