I kind of want to.move to Alaska, as an aside. What's the cost of living like near Juneau? I would preferably like to NOT live in the city, but be close enough. I know the weather there is modulated a lot better due to the ocean.
I'm looking into some local jobs, and I need to check the real estate market. I like that the capital has less people in it than a couple small cities where I live, and of course the landscape is great. Honestly, I'd eat pilot bread and multivitamins for a year if it'd get me up there and set up. Its as far away as I can go without having to Change citizenship. I'm excluding Hawaii because I know I can't afford that.

Its expensive, but if you hunt and fish its manageable.

Kenai Peninsula is nice and a lot cheaper than Juneau. Lots of lefties live there due to its the capital.
