How can in our nation's capitol you can't bear arms when the Constituition sitting in the archives protects your right to do so?

Because it is literally a piece of paper. It stops protecting you the moment the men enforcing the laws start ignoring it.

At that point, it's your arms that protect your right to arms. So far, very few people have been willing to stand up and challenge that (myself included, not trying to call anyone out).

It's a basic prisoner's dilema. If we all resist we have rights. If one resists he loses rights and his life. If one doesn't resist he loses rights and keeps his life. Resisting ends up being irrational if you think you will be doing it alone, since nothing changes except you getting prosecuted.

Ultimately someone has to be the first to stand up. That lowers the bar for the next to stand up and so on.

The question is, who is that guy that slings an AR, walks into downtown DC and says "no thank you" when requested to give it up. I'll be honest -- that isn't me at this point. It isn't most of us. And that is why the constitution won't protect our rights.
