January 4, 2021
Dear XXXXXX:
Thank you for reaching out. I greatly value your engagement and input on the issues facing our nation today.
Our election process took a major step on December 14th when presidential electors met in their respective states and cast 306 electoral votes for former Vice President Joe Biden—more than the 270 electoral votes he needs to become president-elect. Concerns regarding fraud and irregularities in this election remain active in multiple states, and those concerns need to be addressed by Congress and state and local officials throughout the country. But absent new information that could give rise to a judicial or legislative determination altering the impact of the electoral-college votes, Joe Biden will become president of the United States on January 20, 2021.
The year 2020 has not been easy for our country. But as always, Utahns have stood together through these challenging times and continue to support each other and their communities. I remain dedicated to serving our great state and hope you will stay up to date with my work by subscribing to the online newsletter, following me on social media, and signing up for my tele-townhalls at this link or by texting "senmikelee' to 828282.
Thank you again for reaching out to my office, and please do not hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can assist you with.
Best regards,
Michael S. Lee United States Senator
RESPONSE:
Dear Senator Lee,
Thank you for getting back to me.
I would like to point out that the claim that Joe Biden has received 306 electoral votes , is inaccurate .
On Dec 14th, 8 of the contested states have sent duel slates of electors to the President of the Senate.
According to the 12th amendment “ The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open ALL the certificates and the votes shall then be counted”
Sir, with all due respect, can you show me in the constitution where the courts are to decide which slate of electors are valid?
You have it backward.
In a contested election, failing the state legislatures ability to decide, that responsibility devolves to you, as a member of Congress. Then it is up to the court as to whether Congress’ determination was legal.
It cannot be claimed that any of the electors sent from the contested states were ‘regularly given’ according to the Electoral Count Act of 1887
Every day, and every hour, new evidence of elector fraud emerges:
We cannot have a functioning constitutional republic where election fraud is allowed to take place. Every single institution along the way has shirked it’s responsibility to fix this problem. Now it is your responsibility, and I would like to know what you are going to do to fix it?
A first step, at the very least, as your constituent, I would like you to examine the facts objectively(not from the media or Fox News) and then join your colleagues, Chris Stewart and Burgess Owens in the House, to make a determination to not certify the electoral votes until the issues of fraud are resolved. Only once issues of fraud are resolved can our country move forward with confidence in our electoral system.
Thank you!
Good reasoned and logic response. He is a dedicated mormon. His allegiance is too the hierarchy of the church. Name one prominent conservative mormon on the national stage??? Exactly ...... They dont allow it
