It looks more like the spray paint took to the white/metal/painted door but got sucked into the porous brick? There is black spray paint on the brick, just not saturated much because it soaked straight into the brick pores. Let me know if it was something else but that’s what it looks like to me. I don't think that's overspray at all. From this picture it seems like ~99% of the brick in that house is that darker color and there's just a lighter patch of brick by the front door.

Dr. Peacelove, I don't think, has ever used a pressure washer. Works great on brick. You don't use it on wood unless you want the wood to be destroyed.
Just like with hand writing..check how there is no starting spot that has more paint like you would have in starting each letter. There is no trail off of paint at the end of each letter either. They had a prefect can of paint and a perfect job spraying it. To me it looks more like one giant magic marker that was just an image photo shopped on there.
