We watch too many movies where the good guys win and when you grow up you see evil prevailing everywhere. It makes me hope the justice of our creator is where these people will truly have to face what they have done. I believe this judgement is going to come for us all in the end.

That's no excuse for capitulating on doing the right thing here and now though.
