The country is demoralized by critical theory. Science has already determined what a healthy BMI is. The problem is since body dysphoria is very common in the US, people don't realize how overweight they are and how much fat they could actually lose which results in body-positivity delusions instead of determined effort to lower one's BMI.

While it's true no one should feel shame for being overweight -- since truly it is a product of living in the West which allows delusional opinions as part of freedom -- it is harmful to be delusional that obesity is healthy when it is not, and it results in more delusion elsewhere as objective reality is suppressed in favor of could be's and should be's, and not what is.

The goal post of the culture has moved so far that now obesity is now normal (since so many are obese) and morbid obesity is thought of as healthy as long as the person is flexible, with extreme morbid obesity thought of as "overweight".
