If both candidates lose, the dems will still not have the majority as Pence counts as a Senate seat. This means the total would be for 50-50 for both parties.

Not with Collins, Mittens and Murkowski in the mix.
But you also have plenty of RINO traitors, like Romney, who will always vote with Democrats.
I believe there was a 50-50 or 51-49 split in the Senate back in the 90s. Some GOP Senator decided to become an independent and handed things over to the Dems.
Not from the US, but isn't the amount of RINOs higher than the senators in play?
