I wish people just listened to us before. Backing the blue might be a motto to get votes, it certainly isn't a logical idea. I mean why would you ever support a government monopoly typically run by corrupt politicians.
Because people who are police officers don't become police officers to support a government monopoly. They have the right intentions. Public security would not be needed if humans weren't pieces of shit.
I have a lot of cop friends and former cops that are friends. Most just want to retire once they reach their full pension. They just keep their heads down, follow order, try to get easy over time. They start of wanting to make a difference and then figure out the DA usually sucks, so just do the least you can, don't take chances, no need making a mistake that puts you behind jail or in the ground.
But what's wrong with that? I picked my particular career because I was decent at it. I keep my head down, do my work, do what I'm told, go above and beyond when I can, take my paycheck, drink beers with coworkers. Looking forward to retiring and watching my kids graduate. What's wrong with that? The crazy thing is my life isn't on the line when I put my shoes on for work. I don't have a target on my back. I hide behind a computer screen.
